BCBSMT Expands Medicare Advantage Offerings in Montana

HELENA — Medicare beneficiaries in five additional Montana counties will now be able to purchase low-cost, high-quality Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) Medicare Advantage plans for 2022.

BCBSMT will now offer Medicare Advantage products in Broadwater, Deer Lodge, Granite, Jefferson and Powell counties, in addition to Carbon, Cascade, Flathead, Gallatin, Lake, Lewis and Clark, Lincoln, Missoula, Ravalli, Yellowstone and Silver Bow counties where plans continue to be available.

The expanded footprint and new options detailed below build on BCBSMT’s commitment to increase access to affordable care. BCBSMT is adding these opportunities while continuing its dedication to excellent member experiences and helping members receive access to high-quality care and service.

“We have a longstanding commitment to provide products that address our customers’ needs. Our 2022 Medicare Advantage plans reflect the demand we’re seeing for affordable product offerings, along with benefits beyond traditional Medicare,” said Corey Palmer, VP of Sales and Account Management at BCBSMT. “Our 2022 Medicare Advantage plans hit the mark by responding to the wants of our members, as well as qualifying for Medicare.”

BCBSMT’s Medicare Advantage plans allow Medicare beneficiaries greater flexibility and choice in coverage, offering enhanced benefits and greater value. Medicare Advantage plans may also provide additional benefits beyond traditional Medicare, including (or the option to purchase) dental, vision, and hearing coverage at a variety of price points in a simple and easy to understand plan design.

For 2022, BCBSMT has added a $0 premium PPO plan, along with an Open Access Flex PPO plan, in which members can access any provider who accepts Medicare, including primary care physicians and specialists, without a copay, coinsurance or an out-of-pocket maximum. Members will enjoy a high level of cost certainty with the Flex PPO plan since there are no out-of-pocket costs.

The company’s health plans will continue to offer competitive benefits. Plans will provide access to a telehealth provider to help members access urgent care wherever they are when they need it.  Additionally, some plans will offer additional supplement benefits such as over-the-counter items, travel programs, in addition to dental, vision, and hearing benefits.

The Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Annual Election Period (AEP) began October 15, 2021 and ends December 7, 2021. For more information, visit www.medicare.gov.
