IRVINE, Calif.--()--Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII), known to its clients as NextGen Healthcare, today announced significant product enhancements to its mobile workflow solution, including new functionality that enables physicians to utilize speech-driven documentation support in both clinic and hospital settings and facilitates the management of ICD-10 diagnoses to accelerate billing. The new functionality drives time savings for caregivers by increasing workflow efficiency, improving access to patient information and streamlining common clinic and administrative tasks.

This platform upgrade is the first major product enhancement from Entrada following its acquisition by NextGen Healthcare, earlier this year.

Providers often work from multiple care settings – including outpatient clinics, surgery centers and hospitals – each with unique workflows and charting requirements. NextGen Mobile Suite now provides clinical documentation support specifically for the hospital setting, enabling providers to switch between inpatient and outpatient use cases from within a single mobile interface. With real-time access to the hospital census list, providers can use speech-driven documentation options (speech-to-text, transcription and remote scribe) to capture robust patient notes at the point-of-care during hospital rounds.

In addition to inpatient support, NextGen Mobile Suite now provides mobile access to the industry-leading IMO Problem IT Terminology diagnosis entry tool, powered by Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. (IMO). The tool is embedded directly inside the platform, allowing users to expedite and simplify entering diagnosis codes into their EHRs. The tool, with more than 800,000 unique clinical concepts and 1.8+ million synonyms, ensures the accurate capture of physicians’ narrative and integration with EHR terminology.

Other new product enhancements allow providers to:

  • Enable physicians to electronically sign documents from the mobile device.
  • Annotate on clinical images captured from Entrada prior to sending to the EHR.
  • Utilize fast and secure finger-print login on physicians’ mobile devices.

“Industry dynamics are requiring physicians to be proficient in technology across multiple systems, devices and care settings. Our goal is simple – to provide easy-to-use solutions that allow clinicians to remain focused on delivering quality patient care and practice meaningful medicine,” said Rusty Frantz, President and CEO of NextGen Healthcare. “With these new enhancements, our platform allows physicians, and their entire care team, to remain productive by reducing the administrative burden, ultimately enabling better workflow management across systems, both in the ambulatory and inpatient setting alike.”
