Former President of U.S. Preventive Medicine and population health pioneer joins industry association
The Care Continuum Alliance (CCA) today announced the appointment of Frederic S. Goldstein as interim Executive Director, effective on January 2, 2013. Goldstein brings more than 25 years of experience in health care and a singular focus on the population health industry.
Goldstein follows Tracey Moorhead who after 7 years decided to pursue other opportunities. At the time of his appointment, Goldstein was Chair of the CCA Board of Directors. By assuming the interim leadership position, he became an Honorary member of the Board. According to the association’s bylaws, Chris Coloian, immediate Past Chair, assumes the chairmanship until elections are held at the annual conference, CCA Forum 2013, in October 23-25, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“We welcome Fred to his new role,” said Coloian, “and are very grateful he was willing to step in to provide steady leadership for CCA in this time of transition and to drive the continued growth and success of the organization.”
The Board formed a search committee and expects the search for a new leader to take several months. The BOD decided to appoint an interim executive to ensure the smooth running of the association, as it executes on new initiatives to fulfill the research and advocacy priorities decided by the membership at its annual conference last October.
“As a long term member of CCA, I am very excited and honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” said Goldstein. “Particularly after a very strong 2012 and the enthusiasm our members showed at our annual conference. As the health care system transforms to better meet the needs of our country, CCA will continue to focus on research and advocacy on behalf of our members to demonstrate the value brought by a coordinated population health approach.”
“For us, it was a great plus to count on Fred’s long standing relationship with CCA and his in-depth knowledge of the workings of the association. Basically, there will be no learning curve, and he will hand a strong CCA to our new executive leadership,” said Coloian.
Until December, Goldstein served as President of U.S. Preventive Medicine, Inc. and he has more than 25 years of experience as a health care executive, managing hospitals, and disease management and managed care companies.
