Health Dialog Announces Shared Decision Making Webinar in Conjunction with AHIP

From Theory to Practice: Implementing Shared Decision Making at the Point of Care

BOSTON--()--In today’s tumultuous health care environment, physicians and patients are increasingly concerned with having the right information about treatment options. Healthcare professionals and payers agree that one way to improve quality and reduce costs is for patients to become more active participants in their own healthcare. Shared Decision Making empowers people to make better decisions and to become more informed consumers through discussions with providers around treatment preferences directly at the point of care. Properly planned and executed, Shared Decision Making will be critical to moving provider practices forward as they strive to comply with reform expectations, deliver more accountable care, and achieve recognition as Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs).

To assist practices with this initiative, Health Dialog is hosting a webinar on Thursday, November 15, 2012 that will focus on critical success factors and best practices for integrating Shared Decision Making at the point of care. Dr. Peter Goldbach, Chief Medical Officer at Health Dialog, will address:

  • What type of an impact Shared Decision Making can have on patient satisfaction and utilization;
  • What constitutes Shared Decision Making at its best given the large quantity of associated variables; and,
  • Critical success factors and best practices for implementing Shared Decision Making at the point of care.
