Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released Medicare Advantage proposed payment rates and policies for the 2019 benefit year. While we continue to review the notice to determine its impact on beneficiaries and the industry, AHIP President and CEO Marilyn Tavenner issued the following statement:
“Medicare Advantage works and is growing, with just under 20 million nationwide beneficiaries. Research continues to show that, for around the same costs as traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage is more efficient and produces better outcomes. It’s better for seniors, for taxpayers, and for health care in our nation. That’s why in the past few weeks 363 members of Congress – Republicans and Democrats alike – signed onto a letter to show their strong support for Medicare Advantage." ... |
