| AHIP has addressed a letter to House leaders, expressing strong support for permanent reauthorization of Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (SNPs). Our letter emphasizes that SNPs serve as a crucial safety net for approximately 2.4 million of our nation’s most vulnerable seniors, including those who are dually eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid, who have certain chronic conditions, and who require an institutional level of care. We also cite data on the cost-effectiveness of SNP coverage, and we highlight the important role played by AHIP members in tailoring their benefits and services to address the unique needs and health care challenges of SNP enrollees. ... |
