In 2012, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) collaborated with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other payers to offer Oklahoma-based primary care practices an opportunity to participate in the Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) initiative. This initiative encouraged physicians over the course of four years to transform the way they practice, focusing on collaboration between other practices and improving patient health outcomes.
