The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) has been selected as the accrediting organization for the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) ambulatory health care facilities nationwide. The BOP has 122 institutions which provide medical, dental and mental health services to inmates. “AAAHC is very pleased that the Bureau of Prisons has confidently chosen us to partner in the accreditation of its health care units,” said Meena Desai, MD, AAAHC board chair. “As the largest established accrediting body for ambulatory settings, we look forward to working with the Bureau of Prisons to establish an accreditation plan that assures it is meeting or exceeding national standards for patient safety and quality health care. We are proud to further our mission to improve health care quality through accreditation with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and will bring an exemplary level of service and collaboration to our relationship.” ... |
