Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association president and CEO Scott P. Serota issued the following statement today in response to the Senate’s confirmation of Rep. Tom Price to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS):

Price on his confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services, and we look forward to working with him and his team on shaping solutions to the nation’s healthcare challenges. Given the problems in the current individual market, we will work to ensure a smooth transition to a better, more competitive private marketplace with minimal disruption for our members.
