The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) hosted a Capitol Hill briefing today that focused on innovative programs that are working to improve solvency in the Medicaid program by focusing on the program’s high-cost utilizers. Titled “Understanding and Addressing ‘Hot Spots’ Critical to Bending the Medicaid Cost Curve,” the event kicked off with opening remarks from Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (LA-6), founder of the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic and featured remarks from PFCD Chairman Kenneth Thorpe, among others. At the event, PFCD also released a white paper referencing successful programs and policy tools aimed at reducing “hot spots,” lowering costs, and coordinating care among patients with chronic disease. ... |
